Empowering You to Live Your Best Life

Life can feel overwhelming at times, and you don’t have to go through it alone. I help teens and adults work through anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions in a safe, compassionate environment. Together, we’ll uncover new ways to cope, heal, and create the change you’re looking for.

About Me
Hi, I’m Meira Lazar, LCSW-C. I work with teens and adults who are navigating challenges like anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, relationship struggles, and life transitions. Many of my clients have experienced trauma and are looking for a safe space to heal, grow, and move forward.

My approach is warm, compassionate, and non-judgmental. I believe that therapy works best when you feel comfortable and truly heard. Together, we’ll explore what’s getting in the way and find tools and insights that help you create meaningful change in your life.

I draw from a range of evidence-based approaches—including dialectical-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and methods that focus on emotional healing and understanding your inner self. This allows me to tailor therapy to your unique needs and goals.

I’m a Baltimore native and earned my Master’s degree from the University of Maryland School of Social Work. It’s a privilege for me to support people on their journey toward greater clarity, resilience, and connection.

🌱 Therapy for Teens and Adults

Life can feel overwhelming at times. Whether you’re facing new challenges, carrying old wounds, or simply feeling stuck, therapy offers a space to pause, reflect, and grow. I provide individual therapy for teens and adults, tailoring each session to your unique needs, strengths, and goals.Below are some of the areas I commonly support clients with:

đź’ˇ Anxiety & Stress

Anxiety can leave you feeling restless, worried, or unable to relax. Together, we’ll work on understanding the patterns that fuel your anxiety and develop tools to manage stress, calm your mind, and feel more in control.

🌧️ Depression

Depression can make even the smallest tasks feel heavy. In therapy, we’ll focus on rebuilding hope, increasing self-compassion, and finding small but meaningful steps toward feeling better and reconnecting with the things that matter to you.

🌿 Self-Esteem

Low self-esteem can hold you back from relationships, opportunities, and confidence in yourself. I help clients recognize their strengths, challenge negative self-talk, and build a stronger, more supportive relationship with themselves.

🔄 Life Transitions

Transitions—whether planned or unexpected—can bring uncertainty and stress. This may include starting college, adjusting to adulthood, navigating career changes, moving, or other major shifts. Therapy can provide support, clarity, and strategies to help you adapt and grow through these changes.

🤝 Relationship Struggles

Relationships are central to our well-being, but they can also be challenging. I help clients explore patterns in communication, boundaries, and connection so they can experience healthier, more fulfilling relationships with others and themselves.

✨ Trauma

Experiences of trauma can leave lasting effects on the mind and body. In therapy, we’ll move at your pace, creating a safe and supportive space to process your experiences, reduce triggers, and begin healing in a way that feels empowering.

🌸 My Approach

My approach blends evidence-based therapies with mindfulness and emotional healing techniques. I use tools from CBT, DBT, EFT, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help you better understand yourself, manage challenges, and build the life you want.

Every session is tailored to what feels most helpful and supportive for you.

Taking the first step is often the hardest. If you’re ready to explore therapy, I invite you to reach out for a free 15-minute consultation.

Insurance & Payments
I provide therapy for teens and adults on a private-pay basis and offer superbills for clients who wish to seek reimbursement from out-of-network insurance.

Session Fees
  • Intake/Initial session (55-60 minutes): $200
  • Individual therapy session (45-50 minutes): $180
  • Payment is due at the time of service.                                                 Any reimbursement from insurance is your responsibility.

Using Out-of-Network Insurance:

If you have out-of-network benefits, you may be eligible for partial reimbursement. To make the process easier, it can help to ask your insurance company the following:

  • Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
  • What is my deductible and reimbursement rate?
  • Are there session limits or pre-authorization requirements?
  • What documentation do I need, and which CPT codes should my therapist include?
  • How do I submit an out-of-network claim, and how long will reimbursement take?
I will provide a detailed superbill with all necessary information for insurance submission.
The first session is a chance for us to get to know each other. I’ll ask about what brings you to therapy, your goals, and what you’ve tried in the past. You don’t need to have everything figured out — it’s okay if you’re not sure where to start. My goal is to make you feel comfortable and heard.

Sessions are typically 50 minutes. We’ll usually meet weekly at first, and then adjust the frequency based on your needs and progress.
Everyone’s journey is different. Some people find a few months of therapy helpful for a specific concern, while others choose to continue longer for ongoing support and growth. We’ll discuss your goals and check in regularly to make sure therapy is meeting your needs.
Finding the right fit is important. That’s why I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation. It’s a chance to ask questions, share what you’re looking for, and see how it feels to talk together before committing.
